Is there any way to freeze food (ie. leftovers, beans, ect.) without using plastic? All I have ever seen is the ziplock freezer bags and the plastic containers. Does anyone know if you can freeze stuff in glass containers? Are there any containers that are made for freezing food that aren't plastic? I would like to weed out are plastic stuff, but don't know what to do about this. __________________ Mommy to a wonderful boy born 07/26/06. bright_eyes View Public Profile Find More Posts by bright_eyes View User's Ads Sponsored Links 04-21-2008, 03:37 PM #2 Odilia New Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 25 Rating: 0% (0) I do freeze in glass jars. Just make sure you leave adequate head room, or the glass will break! Just make sure you leave a little extra room at the top so that the food has room to expand as it freezes. Your other option is to buy the pyrex-type glass containers (1 cup, 2 cup, 4 cup sizes), with plastic lids and freeze in those. Honestly though, they're kind of expensive and so I mostly save tehm for left overs to be eaten quickly. Mostly when I freeze stuff, I tend to have a good bit, so mason jars work dandily And if you get the wide mouth ones, they're super easy to clean!! __________________ "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
